ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Toronto Blue Jays are struggling so badly, even when they get a huge break, they cant capitalize on it. Their first six batters went down in order against Jered Weaver, who had to leave after 24 pitches because of stiffness in his lower back. But the Jays got only two harmless singles over the final four innings against five relievers and lost their fifth straight, 5-2 to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night. "We thought we finally caught a break when Weaver left, but they shut us down," manager John Gibbons said. "Weavers different than he used to be and has a different style, but hes still one of the toughest guys around, so you feel good when he comes out of the game." Juan Francisco hit his 14th home run for the Blue Jays, who slipped three games behind AL East-leading Baltimore. J.A. Happ (7-5) was charged with five runs, seven hits and three walks in 4 1-3 innings. "Weve seen him do that before," Gibbons said. "Thats where he gets into trouble, when he loses the strike zone. Every now and then hell go through those stretches where it deserts him. Hes still got to throw it over the plate and take his chances and let them hit a ball at somebody." The Angels grabbed a 5-2 lead in the fifth. Chris Iannetta, who scored their first run in the third on Mike Trouts groundout, started the four-run rally with a leadoff double that a fan touched near the top of the 18-foot wall in right-centre field. Manager Mike Scioscia asked second base umpire Jim Wolf for a video review, hoping for a home run call he didnt get. Happ walked his next two batters before Albert Pujols hit a bloop single to right-centre that tied the score. It was his second bases-loaded hit in two days, after starting the season 0 for 13 in those situations. Josh Hamilton followed with a sacrifice fly, Howie Kendrick chased Happ with an RBI single through the box, and Erick Aybar greeted Chad Jenkins with an RBI double on the right-handers first pitch. "We know he likes to throw fastballs, so we wanted to make him throw strikes," Hamilton said. "Hes got really good stuff, so youve got to make him throw strikes. And if he doesnt then he gets into a bad count and have to throw a strike. Then you can do some damage with it." The winning pitcher was Matt Shoemaker (7-2), who made 61 pitches in his emergency stint while allowing two runs and five hits through 3 2-3 innings. The rookie right-hander had thrown 102 pitches last Thursday in a win over Houston. "It was unbelievable. You talk about trying to earn respect points, and Shoemaker definitely did that -- going on three days rest," Weaver said. "That goes a long way. I mean, for him to step up and do what he did after not thinking he was going to pitch tonight was pretty spectacular. That was an awesome job by him, mentally, and you saw the way the rest of the bullpen came in and shut the door against a pretty good lineup." The Angels recently acquired veteran duo of Joe Thatcher and Jason Grilli helped piece it together with Kevin Jepsen and Joe Smith, who got three outs for his 11th save. The Angels extended their home winning streak to 11 games, one shy of the franchise record set in 1967 -- their second season in Anaheim. They are 16 games over .500 for the first time since ending the 2012 season at 89-73, and remain 3 1/2 games behind AL West-leading Oakland. NOTES: Blue Jays RF Jose Bautista made his second straight start at 1B because of Edwin Encarnacions strained right quadriceps, which landed the second-time All-Star on the 15-day disabled list Monday. Nolan Reimould was added to the major league roster and made his Blue Jays debut starting in CF and going 0 for 3 a day after he was claimed off waivers from Baltimore. Kevin Trapp Paris Saint-Germain Jersey . Five years ago, Nestor and Zimonjic beat the American twins to win the title. But the Bryans, the worlds top-ranked team, needed 74 minutes to earn the victory Saturday as both Nestor and Zimonjic lost serve in the second set. Christopher Nkunku Jersey . Head coach Lindy Ruff confirmed on Sunday that his starting goalie has a head injury and the team will take it day by day. http://www.psgsoccershop.com/c-12-javier-pastore-paris-saint-germain-fc-jersey.aspx . Players suspended during the season for a performance-enhancing drug violation will not be eligible for that years post-season. In addition, discipline will increase from 50 games to 80 for a first testing violation and from 100 games to a season-long 162 for a second. A third violation remains a lifetime ban. Edinson Cavani Jersey . LOUIS -- To stay a step ahead of goaltenders, T. Jese Paris Saint-Germain Jersey .Y. -- The New York Islanders were merely content with a lopsided victory.San Jose Sharks 1, Winnipeg Jets 0 (Jets 22-24-5, 11-14-1 on road) - After the win in Anaheim against the top team in the Pacific Division, the Jets faced the Sharks - the second best team in the Pacific Division. The loss was the first under Paul Maurice, snapping the team and Ondrej Pavelecs win streak at four. It was the second time this season the Jets have been shut out. The Jets are in a stretch of three games in four nights, with a home game against Toronto Saturday (TSN 1290) and a road game in Chicago on Sunday (TSN Jets, TSN 1290). The first period was fast paced with chances at both ends, as the shots ended 11-11. Jets went 0-2 on the power play. The pace slowed in the second as the Sharks kept the Jets to just four shots on goal; Pavelec stopped all 11 he faced. Each team had a power play, the Jets man-advantage coming after a charging penalty to Mike Brown for a dangerous hit from behind on Jacob Trouba. Trouba was slow to get up but stayed in the game. The only goal of the game came in the third, as the Sharks capitalized on a Jets turnover - Joe Pavelski, with his seventh in four games and 28th on the year, scoring the goal. The Sharks outshot the Jets 10-5 in the third. The Jets killed off two third period penalties, going 3-3 on the night. Final shots favoured San Jose, 32-20, with Alex Stalock picking up his second straight shutout. Bryan& Little has his point-streak snapped at five games but had a terrific opportunity in the third only to miss the net with his one-timer.dddddddddddd Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele had their streaks end at four games. Pavelec stopped a high, hard blast from Brent Burns in the third. He stayed down for a time, was checked out and stayed in the game, but still seemed to be feeling the effects off the shot as the game wore on. "The effort was there," said coach Maurice post-game. "Were there areas we can be better in, yes. We need to find ways to generate more against these teams. I didnt have a problem with the group, some individuals that we needed more from I will get to. They dont give you much. Its difficult to complete plays against them. Our D core got tested by two very good teams on this trip and did well. Can we become a good defensive team but keep the offense? I think we can. Im excited about this group going forward." Toby Enstrom and Zach Bogosian have become the Jets shutdown pair on defense and had two good games against two tough teams. "I like the way they move the puck, like the way they play the game," said Maurice. Trouba led the team in ice time at 24:23, Olli Jokinen led in shots with five. It was not a good night in the face-off department, with the Sharks winning 65 per cent. Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '
